The man who was killed in an accident with reality star Chris Soules was a grandfather and Vietnam veteran remembered as a safety conscious, hard-working farmer who loved the land.
Kenneth E. Mosher, a married father of two and life-long Iowan known for his work ethic, was identified by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department as the victim killed in the Chris Soules’ fatal car crash.
Mosher – known to some as “Kenny” – was 66-years-old and from Aurora, Iowa. A woman who knew Mosher for years told Heavy that he was “a good farmer.” And that is an understatement. He loved farming. It was his passion. He took good care of his equipment; he was very safety oriented. He didn’t drive drunk. He didn’t take chances. (She and her husband did not want their name printed because, as she described it, “it’s a town of 185 people.” However, they described Mosher in detail, and explained how the Soules’ family farmland abuts into the Mosher land.)
The families knew each other, she said. The crash has left area residents reeling in the tight-knit small town farming area, she said, adding that Mosher was likely returning from doing field work – perhaps clearing out rocks as he was known to do – when the crash occurred, as he was on a John Deere tractor at the time.
Former Bachelor Soules is now under arrest and facing a felony charge after being accused of leaving the scene after allegedly rear-ending a John Deere tractor driven by Mosher. The crash killed the older man, according to sheriff’s officials in Iowa. Soules has already appeared in court.
