Is Khloé Kardashian’s Real Dad O.J. Simpson?

Last month, during an extended social media battle involving nearly all the Kardashians, model Amber Rose taunted Khloé Kardashian by tweeting, “U think because ur dad was a professional football player that got away with murder ur better than me girl? Haaaaannnnn?”

Rose was implying that Khloé’s biological father was not the late attorney Robert Kardashian, but rather one of his old friends and clients: convicted felon and suspected murderer O.J. Simpson.

According to the Kardashians, this is a ridiculous rumor that’s been put to rest. But according to ex-wives of Robert, friends of the family, and the dedicated team of tabloid journalists who’ve brought their unverified claims to light, Rose is right—The Juice really is Khloé’s dad. Could it be?

Origin questions

Khloé, born to Robert and Kris Kardashian on June 27, 1984 (Cancer), has joked about her questionable paternity in the past because, in terms of looks and verve, she is different from her sisters Kim and Kourtney.

She’s taller, her complexion is markedly different, and personality-wise, she’s funnier than her older sisters. Though the Kardashian sisters’ styles have meshed throughout the years (perhaps because they have similar taste or perhaps because it is financially advantageous for them to appear similar), Khloé has always looked different.

In a 2009 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloé asked her mother, Kris, if she was adopted. They did a maternity test to prove that Kris did give birth to her, but they never compared her DNA with her siblings to prove that Robert was her father.

Kris Jenner’s affairs

The maternity test proved that Kris, who is now separated from her second husband Bruce Jenner, gave birth to Khloé. But in Kris’ own 2011 memoir, Kris Jenner and All Things Kardashian, she revealed that she was not faithful to Robert during their marriage. She specifically states that she had a “mid-life crisis at 30” that led her to have an affair with “Ryan,” a “producer.” Per Kris, they “had sex everywhere, all the time.” (Sorry.)

The timing here is important: 59-year-old Kris was 29 when Khloé was conceived, dangerously close to Kris’ admitted affair. It is not crazy to think that Khloé’s father is not Robert Kardashian.

But could it be O.J.?

Ex-wives’ claims

After Kris revealed in her memoir that she was unfaithful during her marriage to Robert, two of Robert’s other ex-wives went to The National Enquirer claiming that Khloé is not a real Kardashian. The tabloid ran with these claims and speculated that O.J. is Khloé’s father.

Jan Ashley, who married Robert after he divorced Kris in 1991, told the mag:

Khloé is not his kid—he told me that after we got married. He just kind of looked at me and said [it] like it was a matter of fact. He said, “Well, you know that Khloé’s not really a Kardashian, don’t you?” And I said, “OK,” and that was it.

She also added that Robert told her he was not sleeping with Kris when Khloé was conceived. Ellen Pierson, who married Robert on his deathbed in 2003, added this: “H e never would have considered a DNA test. He loved her very much. Robert did question the fact that Khloé was his.”

The National Enquirer‘s case for O.J. being the father consisted primarily of side-by-side shots of Khloé and O.J.’s daughter Sydney, who do look similar.

At the time, Khloé tweeted that Ashley and Pierson were “low” and “DISGUSTING!” for likely selling their stories to the mag. Kim Kardashian joked that Khloé was not “tan” enough to be fathered by O.J.

And Kris went on Good Morning America to refute the claims, stating, “I have never heard such crap in my life…I mean I was there. I gave birth. I know who the dad was. Everything is good.”

But who was the dad?

In a later episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2012, Kris tried to convince Khloé to get a paternity test “in order to feel complete.” Khloé refused.

Kris and O.J.

Before Nicole Brown Simpson’s murder in 1994, the Simpsons and the Kardashians were close—the two couples went on vacations together, and their children were friendly.

However, during O.J.’s 1994 trial for the murders of Nicole and Ron Goldman, Kris made her status as Nicole’s best friend clear—she sat in the courtroom wearing maternity clothes Nicole gave her. She stated that Robert’s decision to defend O.J. upset her. And when Kris gave birth to her first child with Bruce Jenner in 1995, she named her Kendall Nicole, after Nicole. The idea of Kris having an affair with her “best friend’s” husband seems crazy.

But Kris Jenner, who parlayed her daughter’s sex tape into a multi-million dollar reality TV empire, is crazy.

It’s also worth noting that when Khloé was born, Nicole and O.J. were still just dating. They did not marry until 1985.

For his part, O.J., who is currently serving time in Nevada for armed robbery, has never addressed the rumor. His manager Norman Pardo, however, told In Touch in 2013 that “Khloé could be O.J.’s kid.” Pardo alleged, “They all took their vacations together. There was a lot of partying going on back then. Kris cheated on Robert—she was known for having a good time.”

He added that he has discussed Khloé’s paternity with O.J. “Whenever I bring it up, he giggles,” he said.

We are allowed to believe some of these right? Without being crazy? Because, yeah, OJ is definitely her dad.
